Intro to Scholar
(2 day Day-Camp)
Ages 12-13

Session A     June 9-10, 2008
Session B   June 12-13, 2008

This conference is designed specifically for 12-13 year old youth. The sessions will run during the day and into the evening with the youth being picked up to spend the night with parents/guardians.

What is the difference between a youth and a teenager? What can you do to connect with and impact your family? During the transition from Love of Learning to Scholar Phase it is sometimes hard for youth to know what their role is in the family. We will discover and discuss the answers to these questions through:

• Colloquia on the following books:
  • Heidi, Spyri
  • White Fang, London
• Simulation
• Lecture/Discussion
• Mentoring with a counselor

Schedule:

Day 1
8:00- 9:00 am           Mountain Music Auditions
9:00-10:00 am          Registration
10:00 am-9:00 pm   YFA conference
9:30 pm                     Parents arrive to pick up

Day 2
8:00 am                      Arrive
8:00 am-5:30 pm      General Session
5:30 pm                      Parents arrive to hear Dr. Groft
5:45 pm                      Dr. Andy Groft speaks
6:30 pm                      Goodbyes and special invitation to parents and students to join us
