Director of Marketing and Public Relations

George Wythe College is seeking to fill the position of Director of Marketing and Public Relations. This is a full-time position consisting of the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for George Wythe College marketing strategy and individual event marketing plans
  • Publicize and fill George Wythe College seminars and events
  • Create marketing materials for the on-campus and off-campus programs
  • Maintain and develop relationships with affiliate organizations
  • Grow and develop George Wythe College database of contacts
  • Direct the content and release of The Statesman, George Wythe College’s monthly online newsletter
  • Responsible for all official George Wythe College press releases
  • Maintain and develop content for George Wythe College website
  • Direct/conduct on-campus visits
  • Responds to public inquiries regarding the college
  • Responsible for community relations, liaison for community programs
  • Maintains a working relationship with local news sources
  • Act as a George Wythe College liaison at events
  • Generate prospective student leads
  • Manage marketing at off-site events

The ideal candidate will be able to meet the following minimum standards:

  • Significant educational and\or professional background in marketing, business or communications
  • Strong leadership and consensus building skills
  • Public relations and marketing management and strategic planning experience
  • A proven track record in developing and administering a marketing plan
  • Must be a self-starter, highly organized and be able to work well with faculty and staff
  • Polished presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent delegation and follow-up skills
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
  • An in-depth understanding of Thomas Jefferson Education and the completion of coursework in a George Wythe College on- or off-campus degree program.

Compensation includes salary and full-tuition benefits for the Director and his or her immediate family.
